Is azoospermia curable?

We recently received the results of my husband’s semen analysis. He was diagnosed with azoospermia. I would like to know if there’s any cure for this so that we don’t need a fertility treatment in the end? We’d like to try for a natural pregnancy first if possible.

  2. Hi Indie,

first of all, it would be interesting to know which form of azoospermia has been detected. Depending on if there’s obstructive, non-obstructive or secretory azoospermia, a different treatment plan needs to be elaborated.

    Best regards

    • In this case, azoospermia is caused by a stressful situation or consumption of harmful substances. By eliminating these factors (reducing stress or stop smoking, drinking alcohol, etc), your husband can restore his fertility. The testicles will recover their function again after a few months in almost all cases. Read more about treatments for azoospermia here: Treatment for non-obstructive azoospermia.
