Gastroenteritis during pregnancy can be confused with some of the more frequent symptoms of pregnancy during the first trimester, such as nausea or vomiting. However, it is advisable to see a doctor if within a couple of days there is no improvement because then, if it is a severe case, there may be a risk of dehydration.
Other characteristic symptoms of gastroenteritis are abdominal pain, diarrhea and fever.
