Last Update: 02/23/2022

Hematospermia is the presence of blood in the semen usually associated with inflammation or infection of the prostate. However, sometimes it is not possible to know the exact reason for the presence of blood in the ejaculate.

The duration of hematospermia can be days or even weeks. In addition, this alteration of the semen may be accompanied by blood in the urine, fever, pain during ejaculation, discomfort during urination, tenderness in the scrotum, etc.
