Consequences in men with thyroid problems

There are two main types of thyroid gland disorders. On the one hand, hyperthyroidism consists of an excessive production of thyroid hormones. Men diagnosed with hyperthyroidism usually present spermatozoa with altered morphology. This is why this thyroid disorder is related to fertility problems in men.

On the other hand, hypothyroidism is the opposite version, that is, the deficit in the production of thyroid hormones. In this case, hypothyroidism is associated with lower sperm quality, lower sperm production and lower libido.
