With a diagnosis of sterility, fertilization (conception) will never happen, and therefore pregnancy cannot be achieved. On the other hand, with infertility, fertilization occurs, but the resulting embryo is unable to implant into the uterus o, even if it does so, it stops developing at some point, which causes the pregnant woman to miscarry.
