Men with diabetes who do not control their blood sugar levels may have fertility problems, as sperm quality is reduced. In addition, diabetic men tend to have higher rates of DNA fragmentation in their sperm, as they are unable to repair the damage.
Fertility problems in diabetic men are often associated with other diseases such as blood vessel disorders or nerve damage, among others.
