When a man decides to become a father at an advanced age, he must take into account the following disadvantages:
- Generation gap. The age difference can make it difficult for the father to have enough energy to meet the baby's play and needs. In addition, this problem can be exacerbated in adolescence, causing friction to arise because of the father's and son's different views of things.
- Less sexual intercourse, or problems in having sex.
- Poorer semen quality.
- Increased risk of some diseases for the baby.
In addition, there may also be an increased risk of miscarriage and certain obstetric complications when the father is older.
