Retinitis pigmentosa is a monogenic disease whose transmission is sex-linked, although it can also be autosomal dominant or recessive. This genetic pathology is the most frequent cause of retinal degeneration.
As a consequence of retinitis pigmentosa, affected individuals will have night blindness or tunnel vision.
