Some women who are older prefer to try some cycle with their own eggs, especially when they have a good ovarian reserve. However, quantity of eggs does not mean quality. In older women it is possible that the eggs may have genetic alterations.
Therefore, if it is decided to attempt IVF with the woman's own eggs before proceeding to oocyte donation, it is recommended that the embryos be genetically analyzed by PGD. In this way, only those embryos that are healthy and most likely to implant will be transferred
