When the number of sperm found with a semen analysis (SA) is too low, the sample is diagnosed with oligozoospermia. The level of severity depends on how low this number is.
In particular, severe oligospermia is the most serious of all three types of oligozoospermia, and means that the man affected has fewer than 1 million sperm per milliliter.
