Orchitis or inflammation of the testicles is a condition usually caused by a sexually transmitted infection. Other possible causes of orchitis in the male are mumps virus, urinary, prostate or epididymal infections, tuberculosis, etc.
Therefore, there are factors that increase the probability of suffering testicular inflammation. Some of them are listed below:
- Having unprotected sex and multiple sexual partners.
- Not being vaccinated against mumps.
- Urinary tract surgery.
- Prolonged use of a catheter.
