Ovarian cysts can form superficially or internally. These fluid-filled sacs that form on the ovaries can be functional if they occur normally during the menstrual cycle or non-functional.
In the case of non-functional ovarian cysts, these can be:
- Cystadenomas.
- Endometriomas.
- Dermoid.
Often, the presence of ovarian cysts does not cause symptoms and, for this reason, regular gynaecological check-ups are very important.
