Parametritis is a type of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) characterized by inflammation of the parametrium, i.e. the set of structures that link the uterus to the pelvis.
This inflammation of the parametrium can cause alterations in the woman's uterus and even lead to complicated miscarriages. Among the most common symptoms of parametritis are fever, abdominal pain and urinary problems.
