Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is an inflammatory process in the upper area of the female genital tract. The way in which PID is expressed is very varied, ranging from an asymptomatic process to serious problems.
There are several symptoms related to PID. Abdominal pain is the symptom that appears in 98% of cases and usually originates in the hypogastrium, that is, in the lower abdominal part. There may also be pain when urinating or constant urge to urinate, bleeding, nausea, vomiting or even fever.
