One of the effects of pesticides is a decrease in male reproductive capacity. This is because the chemicals affect the Leydig cells of the testicles, which causes a decrease in testosterone levels. In addition, pesticides damage the seminiferous tubules and Sertoli cells.
As a result, sperm production as well as sperm quality decreases.
