When a woman is scheduled for a caesarean section, she knows the date and time of the operation. She can prepare certain things in the days before, such as a hospital bag with everything she and the baby will need during the days of hospitalisation (which are more than after a vaginal birth).
Similarly, she can also ask family and friends to help her with household chores and care for other children and pets during the days she is in hospital and while she is recovering.
