What is Postmenopause?

What is Postmenopause?

Postmenopause is the phase that includes several years after menopause, that is, the end of the period. This stage begins at different times for each woman and lasts until approximately 65 years of age.

However, the duration of the post-menopause also depends on when the menopause arrives, so there are variations between women. For example, if the cessation of menstruation occurs at age 50, the postmenopause period will last 15 years. If menopause occurs at age 55, the duration of postmenopause will be 10 years.

At this stage, there is a reduction in estrogen levels, so a woman may feel hot flashes, mood swings, vaginal dryness, etc.
