The main application of preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is to be able to have a healthy child, free of any serious genetic disease that could compromise its life, such as Down syndrome, Edwards' syndrome, etc.
However, today there are still some people who are against this technique because they consider that it is the manipulation of a life and they do not consider it ethical to be able to select the embryos.
