Testosterone is the most important male sex hormone and is produced by the Leydig cells of the testicle. This sex hormone is responsible for the development of secondary characteristics in men, such as a change of voice, hair growth, etc. In addition, testosterone promotes penis growth, increased muscle mass, sperm production, etc.
However, testosterone is not the only male hormone. Inhibin is also important and this hormone is synthesised by sertoli cells.
