The way to treat the symptoms of Swyer's Syndrome consists of hormone replacement through the use of estrogen and progesterone from the time the patient reaches puberty. With this hormone replacement treatment, the development of secondary characteristics will occur.
In addition, the most common option is oophorectomy, i.e. the removal of the ovaries by laparoscopy. This reduces the risk of tumors in the gonads.
Finally, most women with Swyer's syndrome need a psychologist to help them come to terms with their condition.
