The TESA technique refers to Testicular Sperm Aspiration. It is a technique used in reproductive medicine to obtain spermatozoa in a minimally invasive way.
The TESA method consists of a puncture-aspiration of the testicle with a butterfly needle attached to a syringe. The man feels no pain, since the procedure is performed under local anesthesia.

The spermatozoa recovered from the testicular puncture and aspiration will be used in an IVF treatment. Thus, the TESA procedure is the best option for those men diagnosed with azoospermia or with a high percentage of dead sperm in the ejaculate.
