The EMMA test stands for Endometrial Microbiome Metagenomic Analysis. This test analyzes the endometrial microbiome, thus providing information about the type and number of microorganisms in the uterus.

Depending on the result of the EMMA test, it will be possible to establish whether the uterine cavity is optimal or not for embryo implantation and, therefore, for pregnancy.

If the EMMA test provides a low percentage of Lactobacillus (healthy bacteria) in the endometrium, the specialist will most likely prescribe probiotics. In addition, this test also detects other pathogenic bacteria that could cause problems for the woman.
