Usually, if the pregnancy is developing normally, a woman can travel while pregnant. However, there are some situations in which the specialist may recommend against travel. These include the following:
- Date close to the probable delivery date (PPD).
- Complications or risky pregnancy.
- Unfavorable history of a previous pregnancy.
- Multiple pregnancy.
- High blood pressure.
- Gestational diabetes.
- Severe anemia.
- Heart disease in the mother.
Therefore, you should always consult with your obstetrician if you can travel pregnant, since he/she is the one who knows best the particular situation.
