Contraindications to travel while pregnant

Usually, if the pregnancy is developing normally, a woman can travel while pregnant. However, there are some situations in which the specialist may recommend against travel. These include the following:

  • Date close to the probable delivery date (PPD).
  • Complications or risky pregnancy.
  • Unfavorable history of a previous pregnancy.
  • Multiple pregnancy.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Gestational diabetes.
  • Severe anemia.
  • Heart disease in the mother.

Therefore, you should always consult with your obstetrician if you can travel pregnant, since he/she is the one who knows best the particular situation.
