Uterine prolapse is the term used to refer to the sagging of the uterus into the vagina due to weakness of the pelvic floor ligaments. Women with mild uterine prolapse will not feel discomfort.
However, if the uterine prolapse is moderate or severe, the woman will notice urinary incontinence, painful intercourse, low back pain, bladder infections, vaginal bleeding and/or increased vaginal discharge.
