Some women, after having undergone tubal ligation, wish to become mothers again. Although it is possible to perform an operation to reverse the tubal ligation (tubal reanastomosis), this is a complicated process, which does not ensure that fertility is fully restored and which involves going back to the operating room.
However, the possibility of performing tubal reanastomosis will depend on the woman's age (since advanced maternal age reduces the chances of achieving a pregnancy naturally) and on what type of obstruction was made in the fallopian tubes at the time of the ligation.
