Many women believe that breastfeeding is a contraceptive method. However, it is always recommended to use a barrier contraceptive such as the condom. This method poses no risk to either the mother or the baby, since it does not interfere with the quality of breast milk.
On the other hand, other barrier contraceptive methods such as the diaphragm or the cervical cap are not recommended during the first weeks after childbirth.
