The main diagnostic test for placenta previa is ultrasound. During routine prenatal check-ups, the specialist can detect placenta previa. However, the timing of when this gestational complication is detected during pregnancy is important.
When placenta previa is diagnosed in the third trimester, its position may change as the uterus grows. On the other hand, if the pregnant woman experiences vaginal bleeding, the recommendation is to go to the emergency room as soon as possible.
