AI has certain disadvantages. One of the most important is that it is not a technique applicable to all women or couples who come to an assisted reproduction clinic, since certain requirements must be met, such as:
- Functional Fallopian tubes.
- Absence of problems that prevent ovulation.
- Good seminal quality.
In addition, AI is usually performed in young women, generally under 37 years of age.
For all these reasons, the specialist will assess the most appropriate assisted reproduction technique for each specific case.
