Amniocentesis carries some risks and, therefore, more and more alternative techniques are emerging to avoid this invasive test. These are some of them:
- Fetal DNA test in maternal blood
- Combined screening of the first trimester through a blood test and ultrasound
- Preimplantation genetic diagnosis if the patient is in a process of IVF
