It is advisable to insert the contraceptive implant during the menstrual period for greater effectiveness. In the case of Implanon, it is usually inserted between the first and fifth day of bleeding. Jadelle, on the other hand, can be inserted up to the seventh day of the menstrual cycle.
However, if the woman is absolutely sure that she is not pregnant, it is possible to insert the contraceptive implant at another time. In this case, it is recommended to use another contraceptive method such as a condom during the week following implant insertion.
