Uterine conization or cone biopsy consists of removing part of the abnormal tissue from the cervix by making a cone-shaped incision. This surgical intervention is performed in women with precancerous lesions in the cervix to avoid future problems.
Some recommendations after undergoing a cervical conization are the following:
- Use condoms during sexual intercourse for at least 6 months after the intervention.
- Stop smoking.
- Get vaccinated against cervical cancer.
