Cryptozoospermia is a semen disorder characterised by a low concentration of sperm in the ejaculate. It is a variant of the well-known oligozoospermia, but the number of spermatozoa is lower.
The diagnosis of cryptozoospermia is made by means of a seminogram where macroscopic and microscopic parameters of the semen are analysed. In addition, the specialist may request complementary tests to confirm the diagnosis. These include a hormone analysis, a physical examination and an ultrasound scan.
