Early menopause is diagnosed when the ovaries start to fail before the age of 40 and therefore poses a problem of infertility. Since the ovary stops working, estradiol stops being produced. This hormone deficit causes anovulation and the alteration of the menstrual cycles. The period will become increasingly scarce and irregular until it finally disappears completely.
