When a woman detects an alteration in her menstrual cycles or even a total absence of menstruation, she should visit a specialist to determine the origin of this anomaly.
The gynaecologist will order a blood test to carry out a hormonal study. If the oestradiol levels are low and the FSH concentration high, this could be indicative of menopause in the woman. In addition, if the patient is under 40 years of age, then the diagnosis would be early menopause.
