Having more than 400,000 platelets/ml of blood is considered one of the determining factors in the diagnosis of essential thrombocythemia. Many cases of essential thrombocythemia are asymptomatic, that is, they do not cause signs in the patient.
However, at other times, this disorder in the number of platelets can cause:
- Weakness or tiredness.
- Headaches.
- Burning or stinging of the skin.
- Tingling sensation.
In addition, redness may appear on the hands and feet of people with essential thrombocythemia.
