Chromosomal analysis of fetus

The non-invasive prenatal test makes it possible to analyse the chromosomes of the fetus by means of a maternal blood test in order to detect any alterations that could lead to the birth of a sick baby.

Specifically, the fetal DNA test is used to detect the most frequent aneuploidias in the population: Down syndrome (trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18), Patau syndrome (trisomy 13) and alterations of the sex chromosomes.
