Yesterday morning I had nexplanon inserted, so does it mean it starts working immediately? Because on the evening we had unsafe sex… And now I’m worried it wasn’t working yet. Does it mean there are chances for me being pregnant? OMG! What can I do now to rule out every chance for conception?
08/21/2015 at 10:36 amIf the implant was inserted during the first five days of your menstrual cycle, then you are indeed immediately protected against pregnancy.
Conversely, if it wasn’t during these 5 days, it means you should’ve used an extra birth control method (e.g. condom) for at least a week.
Thus, if Nexplanon was inserted while you weren’t on your period, I recommend you to take the morning after pill in order to rule out any chance for pregnancy.
I’m sorry.
