    Hello,

My name is Susan and I’m from the US. I’m a healthy, young woman and I’d like to donate my own eggs, mainly because I’m not planning to be a mother currently or in the future, and I feel as if I were wasting my eggs and of course because I know egg donors get a economic compensation, and I need some money to pay college. Just let me know the average amount I may get and what is the process about.

Wishing all women the best of lucks!

  2. Dear Susan,

Thanks for getting involved. The question you’ve posted here is very interesting for women in the same situation as yours. According to USA legislation on this matter, the amount given to egg donors varies from clinic to clinic or from bank to bank. Nevertheless, it usually ranges from $4,000 to $10,000 approximately. It depends also on the qualities of each egg donor.

According to the Ethics Committee of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), “sums of $5,000 or more require justification” and “sums above $10,000 go beyond what is appropriate.”. However, they make it clear that there is no consensus on the specific payment.

Anyhow, what you have to do if you wish to become an egg donor is visiting an egg donor agency or fertility clinic and signing up to become an egg donor. In case the center you finally choose is far away and you are required to travel, you will be provided with expenses such as hotel accommodations, among others.

    Hope this helps
