Hi! I’m on IVF short protocol, ICSI.

13 May 2016: Hormonal medications for ovulation induction
    24 May 2016: Egg collection (15 follicles – 11 ova- 5 fertilized).
26 May 2016: 1 Embryo transfer (1 embryo in 5 cells after 49 hours from egg collection).
    28 May 2016: lower abdominal pain from 4am – 5am.

    Could blastocyst cause abdominal pain?

  2. Hello Mary35,

The development of your IVF protocol is going as it should, and the lower abdominal pain is a side-effect of the hormonal medications you’ve been taking for ovarian stimulation, so there’s no reason to worry.

It is still too early for you to feel any pregnancy symptom. If it was a blastocyst transfer, you can take a pregnancy test from day 10. Take a look at the following post, it may be useful: Symptoms after embryo transfer.

    • Hi Sandra!

      Thanks for your response.

      It’s been 10 days now (5/Jun) since ET (26/May at 2-day 5-cells embryo).

Friday (3/June) was feeling so tired after being out for lunch and lifting a heavy bag of laundry for 2 mins. Fall asleep and waken up by 5y/o son from previous relationship (1st pregnancy was normal, until last yr. had PCOS till was referred to IVF).

Saturday (4/Jun) I pee many times at night and @5am saw 3 black dots (ballpoint) and 3mm thread line on the tissue in white stretchy mucus. Still feeling very tired and sleep 3hrs in the afternoon after watching my sons football training in the morning.

Sunday (5/Jun) feeling very tired in the afternoon sleep 3hrs and got headache when I wake up. I peed and saw very very light pink stain on the tissue. Drank a lot of water and headache subsides.

Had PT this morning but it was negative. My scheduled HPT is on Friday (10/June). My last mens was 11/May 2016.

I am on Crinone gel 8% ev. morning from 25/May to 8/June (15days).

Could those fatigue and discharges mean late implantation? I am trying to be positive in every way I can to make my day and interaction like this eases down those bugging thoughts ??

      Thanks again Sandra.

    • Hello again Mary35,

The symptoms you’ve been feeling from Fri. to Sun. could be embryo implantation symptoms, yes – even the black dots, as they may be due to implantation bleeding. If this were the case, then you may have gotten a false negative result after taking a HPT due to too low hCG levels as to be detectable. Wait for your scheduled HPT next Friday 06/10.

On the other hand, those symptoms may be due to the medications you’re taking or the PMS (i.e. premenstrual syndrome).

      I hope this helps,

      Best wishes

  3. Hi Sandra,

    Thanks to your comforting words.

Today (7/June) when I woke up and after having peed, have heavy brown discharge when I wipe. After applying my 14th Crinone 8% had fresh stain on my panty, with fresh blood coming the whole day (5 panty liner) and at night I am on pads. (Tom 8/Jun is my last day on Crinone).

I have been feeling so helpless seeing those blood clots, but tried to be positive that everything has a reason whatever may be the outcome on Friday 10/June (when I have my HPT). I have an irregular cycle ranging from 35-46 days, and it is my first time now that bleeding like 1st day mens came earlier on the 27th day.

Like today, yesterday (6/June) my body was so tired and would rather be in bed which I did in the afternoon and slept.
