The main requirement for the sperm donor is that he is a healthy, young man with high quality sperm. In addition, he must also pass a series of tests:
- His semen must be of high quality, so a seminogram is done to analyze the sperm.
- He must not have any genetic diseases or family history of them. To prove this, genetic tests are performed.
- He must not have any infectious diseases that can be transmitted to the offspring.
- He must not have mental problems or diseases or a history of them, for which a psychological test is done.
