Congenital and non-communicating hydrocele

Testicular hydrocele is an alteration caused by the accumulation of fluid in the scrotal area. This type of hydrocele is the most frequent in the male population.

Depending on the etiology of the testicular hydrocele, it can be distinguished:

  • Congenital or communicating hydrocele. This type of hydrocele appears from birth and is due to an incomplete closure of the tunica vaginalis of the testicle.
  • Acquired or non-communicating hydrocele, more common among adults. In this case, the possible causes of non-communicating hydrocele can be infections, testicular torsion, vasectomy, etc.
