The study of a woman's fertility usually includes a vaginal ultrasound to assess the number of antral follicles she has, as well as any abnormalities in the ovaries and/or uterus. In addition, a hormonal profile and a hysterosalpingogram are usually performed to study the patency of the fallopian tubes.
