When a couple has been having unprotected sexual intercourse for more than a year and is unable to achieve pregnancy, it is possible that there are fertility problems in the woman, in the man or even in both partners.
In relation to female fertility problems, in vitro fertilization (IVF) may be indicated for several reasons:
- Tubal factor.
- Endometriosis.
- Low ovarian reserve.
- Advanced maternal age.
However, IVF may also be indicated when there have been previous failures in artificial insemination (AI) cycles.
