Intracytoplasmic sperm injection, commonly known as ICSI, is usually indicated in cases of male infertility.
However, there are also recommendations for IVF-ICSI when the number of oocytes obtained after the woman's ovarian puncture is low, the eggs have a very thickened zona pellucida and are of poor quality.
