Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are a cause of infertility in both men and women. However, STDs can be prevented through optimal condom use.
In particular, the symptoms of STDs in women are multiple and include the following:
- Salpingitis or inflammation of the fallopian tubes.
- Hydrosalpinx, i.e., accumulation of fluid inside the fallopian tubes.
- Changes in the cervical mucus, which makes it difficult for the sperm to move.
- Endometritis or inflammation of the endometrium, the mucous layer that surrounds the uterus.
Therefore, it is always recommended to use a safe method of contraception to avoid suffering from an STD and infertility.
