Oligoastenozoopermia is defined as a combination of alterations in the concentration and motility of the spermatozoa. When a semen sample shows low sperm concentration and values below those established by the WHO in relation to sperm motility, the patient is considered to suffer from oligoastenozoospermia.
Men diagnosed with oligoasthenozoospermia will have difficulty achieving a natural pregnancy since the possibility of the sperm reaching the egg will be lower. For this reason, oligoasthenozoospermia is a cause of male sterility due to sperm factor.
