The basic test to assess fertility in men is the semen analysis. The patient must provide a semen sample with a period of sexual abstinence in order for the results to be reliable.
Once the semen sample has been submitted, the andrology laboratory staff will be in charge of analysing it. Parameters such as seminal volume, appearance, pH, quantity of sperm in the ejaculate, sperm motility and sperm morphology will be studied.
