What is a hydrocele?

A hydrocele is a type of swelling that appears in the scrotum due to an accumulation of fluid around the testicle.

Even though, in principle, it doesn't affect male fertility, it can present certain symptoms and be painful. If the hydrocele doesn't go away on its own, surgery may be required.
