Among the most characteristic symptoms of menopause are menstrual alterations and hot flashes. At the onset of menopause, it is common for a woman to notice changes in bleeding and the duration of her menstruation. This may lead her to suspect that menopause is approaching.
The cause of the hot flashes typical of menopause is the lack of estrogens. In addition, women may experience night sweats and mood swings.
