The morning-after pill has side effects that can affect the menstrual cycle depending on the day it is taken. Normally, when the post day pill is taken before ovulation, a few days later the woman experiences bleeding due to the deprivation of progestins. However, when the pill is taken in the second half of the cycle, when the woman has already ovulated, a delay in menstruation may occur.
In terms of the type of bleeding, appearance, and duration, there may be variations among different women.
